LPA FUTURES WINNERS 2023-’25 / EMMA STONER

With the current LPA Futures judging now in full swing to find the next 3 winners, we’re taking a moment to look back at what our current roster of Futures photographers have achieved since their win in 2023. Alongside representation by LPA for two years (and possibly beyond – watch this space!), each winner also received a range of valuable prizes designed to help fast-track their careers.

This week it’s the turn of Emma Stoner, whose striking portraits and beautifully toned landscapes first caught the judges’ attention with their power to capture the beauty in everyday moments.

Since joining LPA, Emma has worked with some incredible clients — including Cadbury, This Girl Can, Riveford Organic Farmers, The National Theatre and English Heritage to name just a few.

Let’s celebrate some of these brilliant projects and the journey she’s been on since her Futures win.

Emma Stoner / This Girl Can/ 23red

Emma photographed the ‘Let’s Get Out There’ campaign for This Girl Can with 23red, a joyful call for women of all backgrounds to make the most of their local spaces through walking and water-based activities.

Shot on location in Selly Oak, the images capture real moments of women kayaking and having fun on bell boats at South Birmingham Paddle Club, as well as enjoying a walk through the scenic Lickey Hills Country Park. This Girl Can is a Sport England initiative, funded by the National Lottery, that celebrates a real, unfiltered vision of women getting active — regardless of age, size or ability. Since its launch in 2014, it has inspired over 3 million women across the UK to get moving.

Emma Stoner / English Heritage/ Sunday

Back in April Emma captured the quiet majesty of Yorkshire’s historic heart for English Heritage, collaborating with their agency Sunday.

The series captures a scenic walk between the medieval Helmsley Castle and the hauntingly beautiful ruins of Rievaulx Abbey. It was Emma’s first time spending meaningful time in Yorkshire, and the visit to these remarkable historic sites left a lasting impression. The full photo feature was included in the spring edition of the English Heritage members magazine.

Emma Stoner / Cadbury/ VCCP

Emma’s work features in Cadbury's integrated campaign, by VCCP. The campaign seeked to capture the true spirit of Christmas by celebrating special moments and diverse holiday traditions.

This out-of-home-led initiative marks Cadbury’s first campaign in years to focus specifically on the beloved advent calendar, aiming to make Cadbury an essential part of everyone’s Christmas countdown.

Emma Stoner / Riverford

Emma photographed the front cover of Riverford’s Veg & Table magazine, featuring Ed harvesting tomatoes in the Wash Farm polytunnels. Captured this summer, the image perfectly celebrates the season’s fresh, ripe produce.

Emma Stoner / Fleet Walk/ Zene & Co

This summer, Emma partnered with Zene & Co to photograph the seaside town of Torquay, Devon. The focus of the project was Fleet Walk Shopping Centre, which is now strategically asset managed by Milligan, on behalf of Torbay Council — it marks a fresh chapter for a central part of the town.

Alongside documenting the evolving retail space, Emma also explored the wider area, capturing the essence of Torquay & Devon in the summertime: bustling harbourside cafés, sunny beaches and family days out. The goal was to reflect the appeal of the area and the exciting changes taking place at Fleet Walk.

We can’t wait to see what the class of Futures 2026-’28 get up to. Keep an eye on our socials to find out who the next 3 winners are in January.
