Alice Whitby has been shooting for a very good cause recently for the NHS, commissioned by Claremont Communications.

This shoot was part of a wider NHS initiative to encourage women to go for their cervical screening appointments.

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness and promote increased uptake of cervical screening amongst borough specific BME target groups who have been identified as having low uptake for the screenings. The NHS stated that the ethnicity of the subjects and the location were important for these images, it was a local campaign for local women.

Alice says she captured images of a Asian mother and daughter in Camden, a Turkish mother and daughter in Haringey, and a Bangladeshi model in Islington/Finsbury Park. She also said that she wanted the women to look empowered, and for the audience to feel motivated and supported to go for their screening.

We love these and think Alice has fulfilled the brief perfectly here. Keep your eyes peeled for a poster in your area!
