To celebrate the final stage of LPA Futures ‘26 judging having just taken place (we’ve just chosen the final 3!) we are diving into our brilliant Partners and getting to know them a little better. Alongside representation by LPA for two years (and possibly beyond – watch this space!), each winner will also receive a range of invaluable prizes to help fast-track their careers. First up we are chatting to CAA, cue Charlie Cave!

Creative Assistants Agency (CAA)
Introducing Creative Assistants Agency (CAA) — The prize they are generously donating to each LPA Futures winner is a creative supplier for a test or personal shoot.
CAA is a relatively fresh face in the industry as an agency , but backed by years of on-set experience, as Charlie the founder has been a wardrobe and props stylist for many years. CAA represent a range of props and wardrobe stylists , hair /makeup artists, set builders, home economists, runners… you name it- a little black book to die for!
A friendly personable helpline for all your creative crew needs with a speciality for gathering the A- team on set to make for a smooth running happy shoot.
We caught up with head honcho Charlie Cave to chat about all things CAA…
LPA: Tell us a bit about Creative Assistants Agency.
CAA: Creative Assistants Agency (CAA) represents talented crew across the creative industry, covering all roles and levels. We work with clients ranging from large-scale productions to lead creatives seeking an assistant. We’ll be celebrating our fifth anniversary next spring, and each year the agency continues to grow. Our passion for connecting creatives and supporting the work we love remains as strong as ever.
LPA: This year, our focus is on encouraging tests and personal projects. Do you agree these are important for photographers and other creative assistants alike.
CAA: Absolutely! When starting out, testing and personal projects are vital. They allow creatives to develop their folios, gain essential hands-on experience, and build a network of collaborators. Without the pressure of client briefs, you can push your own ideas and show off your creativity—these projects often lead to paid work. Even once you are established, personal projects remain important to keep your portfolio fresh and authentically yours.
LPA: As a stylist what would be your dream test shoot?
CAA: My dream test shoot would be on location somewhere incredible and remote. I’ve always adored the work of photographer David LaChapelle—the narrative and visual drama of his images are mesmerising. If I could choose, our shoot would feature actor Sam Rockwell in the Atlas Mountains. The set would resemble a surreal psychiatric hospital staged outdoors, with a wardrobe of mismatched outfits representing different job roles—creating a whimsical, slightly disorienting visual story.
Stay tuned to our socials to see who the next three winners are when we reveal them in January.
