“There’s an unnerving scene in the recent Chernobyl drama where people from a nearby town come out to watch the plant alight and enjoying the beautiful sight. Adults and children are laughing and dancing as the spark fly around them, unaware of the danger it poses. Seeing people having fun in the sun as global warming escalates reminds me of that so I’ve tried to capture an undercurrent of uncertainty in these images.

I think the uncertain future that global warming brings also explains why I’ve been drawn to shooting images of younger generations.

Likewise, I grew up near the Thames and I remember after learning about global warming at a young age and fearfully inspecting the high tides whenever we passed the river for signs of flooding and so it felt like a fitting place to shoot.”
