LPA Photographer / Paul Craig / Wild Swimming

Photographer Paul Craig has been adding to his portfolio recently with this fantastic personal project on wild swimming.

Paul was first introduced to wild swimming by friends last summer, when he was invited to visit a lake near his home in Yorkshire, and was blown away by the buzz of seeing people enjoying the open water swim, and the beauty of the early morning sunshine. Since then he has been documenting wild swimmers in various locations across the country on a regular basis.

Paul says what struck him most while shooting this project was the positive energy the swimmers had, and also the great camaraderie between the them. Some of the swimmers had known each other for years, while others had only just met, but everyone was welcomed just the same, and they all allowed Paul to come along and take photos without batting an eye!

Although Paul said he had to wear three fleeces and a jacket to capture the most recent images for this project, and still ended up feeling cold, he says it was worth it because meeting the swimmers and spending time with them at the lake was such a positive experience!

Beautiful work Paul!
