Long time Hackney resident Nick David and with filmmaker Jack Flynn, were commissioned by Hackney Council to create this short film recently to celebrate the borough’s community spirt.

As this year the council were unable to host a light switching on ceremony, they instead decided to create a short film celebrating the community instead.

The pair said they particularly enjoyed this project as it was brilliant to hear so many positive stories in a time that has been incredibly difficult for many people.

Nick and Jack had to work under unusual circumstances, both with the Covid19 restrictions that were in place at the time, and also the time limitations. However despite the limitations the resulting video and stills show the hope and optimism the community has perfectly!
