Interview with Lisa about being an Agent!

I was recently interviewed by the lovely people at Creative and Cultural Skills for their regular Creative People feature. This wonderful independent charity gives young people opportunities to work and learn in the creative industries. They provide careers advice and guidance, promote apprenticeships and deliver activities for young people through their National Skills Academy. I was more than happy to offer some insight into the lesser known role of a photographers agent to the wider public. Keep up the good work guys!

They asked me all about being a photographers agent, including how I became one, what the job entails, what I think are the best and worst things about the job and how to become a photographer agent yourself!

Here’s a little snippet…

CCS “What is the best thing about your job?’

LP ‘Tricky, as even though I’ve been doing this job for years, there are many aspects I love and I can’t possibly choose one.

I love the fact that I get to spend a lot of my time looking at so many brilliant images. I still get a buzz when a new brief comes in and an even bigger one when one of my photographers gets the job.

I also really enjoy discovering new photography talent. We actually run a competition every two years called LPA Futures to do just that.”
